In this part of the module, we’ll do a quick recap to keep some important parts of previous modules in mind so we can discuss how they relate to WEEE processing.

EEE contain many different substances

  • EEE contain more than 1 000 different substances
  • Many substances are hazardous for human health and for the environment.
  • Hazardous substances therefore need special care and treatment – especially in the audit process.
  • EEE contain valuable metals such as gold, copper, nickel and other scarce metals (e.g. Indium, Palladium).
  • Many materials found in WEEE can be recycled to be used as secondary raw materials,
