This report, developed under the Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI) programme, aims to identify and assess the support mechanisms that can drive growth in the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) sector. It maps existing incentives, incubators, accelerators, and funding programmes relevant to WEEE, categorizing them into four groups: government, academic institutions, private sector/non-profits, and international organisations. The mapping was based on desktop research and select stakeholder engagements.
A key contribution of the report is its detailed matrix of over 100 programmes, analyzed for alignment with the draft National WEEE Policy. It highlights how various initiatives support innovation, small business development, and sustainability goals in the WEEE value chain. While no programmes were found to specifically target WEEE, many are aligned with broader green economy objectives and show potential for adaptation.
