Bridging the gap between the formal and informal e-waste sectors in Egypt

The overall objective of this study is to establish an international benchmark for successful approaches to bridging the collection gap between the formal and informal sectors, drawing on existing literature and case studies from various developing countries. The study examines the likelihood of success of these approaches in the specific context of Egypt, involving extensive stakeholder engagement to identify key challenges and opportunities. The goal is to outline the most appropriate solution for bridging the gap between the formal and informal sectors in Egypt, to be piloted in the future as part of the Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI) activities.
