to good practices
This section in the module looks at moving from worst to good practices with awareness raising.
Move from worst to good practices with awareness raising
- Worst practices in WEEE management are described as «pratices that are known or suspected to have severe negative impacts on the environment, workers/community health and safety, and quality and quantity of recovered secondary materials.
- These worst practices mostly take place in subsistence activities seen in the informal sector.
- Poor education and lack of training and awareness contribute to engaging in risky practices.
- Raising awareness among workers involved in WEEE management will strenghen their capacities and help move from worst to good practices.
