The Circular Electronics Initiative (CEI) Programme supports partner countries in building the institutional, regulatory and market conditions required for circular and inclusive management of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
Building on the Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI) programme’s successful work in strengthening framework conditions across strategic areas such as governance and private sector initiatives, CEI continues to improve the e-waste management ecosystem in developing and transition countries.
The implementation of SRI laid the foundation for valuable learnings on how to build the right conditions for effective e-waste management. Building on this experience, CEI continues to develop a rich body of knowledge, offering practical insights and best practices to the global e-waste management community.
The SRI Online Training on E-Waste Management offers a comprehensive, structured learning experience designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to address one of the fastest-growing global waste streams. Adapted from in-person training developed by SRI country teams and experts at Empa, this modular course covers critical aspects of e-waste management, from fundamental definitions to advanced recycling technologies, policy frameworks, and auditing practices.
